In the shadow of Mt. Athos
Nitra Gallery proudly presents the work of Markos Kampanis, a Greek leading contemporary artist focusing on the field of religious art.
In this entity of works, Kampanis is inspired by Mt. Athos and the Greek landscape, which have been significant themes throughout his career.
Kampanis studied painting at Wimbledon School of Art and Saint Martin’s School of Art in London. He has participated in twelve solo shows and a numerous group shows ones, art fairs in Greece and abroad. He represented Greece in the 15th Alexandria Biennale.
He is also the curator of the Mount Athos Art Archives, whose main domains are contemporary art inspired by Mt. Athos and the history of religious printmaking.
